DERMOTT, AK. - Robert Lee Foster, age 83, of Dermott, Ark., formerly of Evans, Ga., departed this life on February 21, 2006 at the Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village, Ark. He was born March 15, 1921, in Stigler, Okla., to John E. and Roxie Harmon Foster. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Frances Gray Foster, his second wife, Ethel McKinley Jackson Foster and a sister, Eloise Foster Eubanks Duggan. He was a U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer, retired, and served with honor in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Warren Baptist Church of Augusta, Ga. and a 32nd degree Mason. Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid gardener, always sharing his harvest. Survivors include three daughters and one son: Betty June Stout and her husband, Mike of Dunnellon, Fla., Jerry Foster of McGehee, Ark., Susan Johnson and her husband, Johnny of McGehee and Robert Michael Foster and his wife, Marty of the Philippines; three stepsons, Billy Jackson of Elkmont, Ala., James Jackson and his wife, Kathy of Vidalia, Ga. and Dennis Jackson and his wife, Bettie of Gainesville, Fla.; one sister, Raye Foster Wells of McGehee; two brothers, John W. Foster of McGehee and Riley Foster of West Palm Beach, Fla.; 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a family of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Griffin Funeral Home of McGehee. Graveside services and burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at Westover Memorial Park in Augusta.
