CHARLESTON, S.C. - Mr. Robert Ellis (Pete) Evans, beloved husband of Mrs. Johnnie Evans of Charleston died Monday, February 20, 2006 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2006 in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Sutphin officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Evans was a native of McDuffie County, but had lived in Charleston for many years. He was a retired plumber and was of the Baptist faith. He was a loving son, father, brother, uncle and grandfather. He cherished his family and friends and will be greatly missed. Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his father, William Sexton and grandparents, Carrie and Dick Luke and a son, DeWayne Evans and is survived by wife, Johnnie Evans of Charleston; three daughters, Renee Evans of Charleston, Sheila Ortiz of Grovetown and Lanna Zumack of Lexington; one son, Robbie Evans of Evans; mother, Ollie Harley of Charleston; twosisters, Betty Yearwood of Thomson and Carolyn Killette of Summerville, S.C.; three brothers, William Sexton of Lake City, S.C. and Jesse Benjamin Sexton of Ladson, S.C. and Murray Sexton of Summerville and a large number of grandchildren.
