STATESBORO, Ga. - Mrs. Jean Banks Reed, age 67, died Friday afternoon at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility. The Bulloch County native was a graduate of Statesboro High School and attended Georgia Teachers College. She moved to Palm Beach, Fla., for 40 years before returning to Statesboro in 1996. Mrs. Reed was the Director of Fiscal Services for Palm Beach County Tax Collector for 15 years. She was a member of the Statesboro First Baptist Church. Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her father, Lonnie Jim Banks. Surviving are her husband of 31 years, James Leroy Reed of Statesboro; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan A. and Howard Lanier of Jupiter, Fla.; her mother, Eubie Turner of Statesboro; a sister and brother- in-law, Ann and George Heath of Augusta; two nephews, Jimmy Heath of Augusta and Lt. Col. Stanley Heath of Woodbridge, Va.; four aunts, Alva Barford of St. Simons Island, Ga., Cora Lee Dyson of Fayetteville, N.C., Ollie Dixion of Statesboro and Vennie Lanier of Savannah, Ga.; and an uncle, Robert Lanier of Statesboro. Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Joiner- Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Ledbetter officiating. Burial will be in the Eastside Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour. Pallbearers will be Bob Avra, L.R. Anderson, Jr., Wallace Newton, Jimmy Heath, Greg Avra and Gary Cowart. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O.
