NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Funeral services for Mr. Robert William "Bob" Gay, 61, of Cottonwood Court, North Augusta, who died January 19, 2006, will be conducted Monday morning at 11 o'clock from the Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home, Dr. E. Finley Limehouse officiating. Interment in Westover Memorial Park. Mr. Gay was native of Augusta, a former Beech Island resident for 35 years having recently made North Augusta his home. He was a graduate of Augusta Technical College where he served as a member of the Electronics Technology Advisory Committee and a former member of the Beech Island Volunteer Fire Department with 25 years of service. Mr. Gay was retired from AT & T Communications with 36 years of service. Mr. Gay was the son of the late Simmons Lester Gay, Jr. and Mary Harveston Gay. Survivors include his wife, June Reid Gay; a son, David James Reid Gay, North Augusta; a brother, Lester Gay, Milledgeville, Ga.; a sister, Joye N. Percival, Dunwoody, Ga.; a brother-in-law, Charles Rudy Reid, Jr., Smyrna, Ga.; six sisters-in-law and husbands, Diane and Bob Broome, Cyndy and Paul Freeman, Wanda C. Reid, all of Beech Island, Pam and Ricky Tarlton, Jackson, Melanie K. Reid, Mesa, Ariz., and Andrea R. Davenport, Aiken; nine nieces, Donna G. Walker, Taryn Walker, Lisa Baxley, Jami Baxley, Shannon Tarlton, Kelly Tarlton, Courtney R. London, Megan Reid and Bailey Freeman; four nephews, Mark D. Percival, Jason Freeman, Jonathan Broome and Jesse Baxley; a special family friend, Gloria Mendoza. Pallbearers will be Bob Broome, Paul Freeman, Ricky Tarlton, Jason Freeman, Jonathan Broome and Jimmy Crawford. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Sunday afternoon from 3 to 5.
