Bucks edge Bobcats

MILWAUKEE - Michael Redd scored 23 of his 35 points in the second half as the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Charlotte Bobcats 101-91 Saturday night.

Milwaukee won for the second time in two nights and improved to 6-0 against Charlotte.

Redd, who has scored 30 points or more 15 times this season, scored 15 points in the third quarter.

Trailing 56-55 early in the third quarter, Milwaukee went on an 8-1 run to grab a 63-57 lead. Charlotte's Primoz Brezec then scored back-to-back baskets as the Bobcats cut the lead to 63-61.

Redd then sparked a 15-4 run with three 3-pointers and a free throw, and Mo Williams fed Andrew Bogut for an alley-oop dunk, as the Bucks pushed their lead to 78-65 at the end of three quarters.

After a 44-point first-half, Milwaukee scored 34 points in the third quarter, making 14 of 23 shots for 61 percent.

Charlotte would get no closer than six points in the fourth quarter, falling to 4-18 on the road.

The injury-depleted Bobcats were without leading scorer Gerald Wallace, who didn't travel with the team after spraining his left knee Friday against Orlando.

A night after facing the Atlanta Hawks, whose 10 wins rank last in the NBA, Milwaukee beat an 11-win Charlotte team.

Charlotte, which leads the NBA with 10.5 steals per game, had 10 steals in the first half and forced 13 turnovers. The Bobcats scored 15 points off the turnovers to lead 47-44 at halftime.

The Bobcats' defensive effort offset their shooting, which was at 37 percent in the first half.

Charlotte, which lost at home to Orlando on Friday, scored the game's first 10 points as Milwaukee had five turnovers. Milwaukee battled back to grab a 21-19 lead, but the Bobcats scored the final eight points of the quarter to lead 27-21.

Brezec scored 21 points for the Bobcats, who lost for the 11th time in 12 games. Jumaine Jones added 18.

Milwaukee, which outrebounded Charlotte 51-36, got 13 points and a career-high 22 rebounds from Jamaal Magloire. Bogut scored 15 points and had 10 rebounds.

Playing without injured point guard T.J. Ford, the Bucks committed a season-high 24 turnovers.

Notes: Ford sat out his second straight game with a hamstring injury. Jermaine Jackson made his second straight start in Ford's place.... Redd was called for a three-second violation on back-to-back possessions.... Milwaukee is 17-1 when scoring at least 100 points.... Charlotte's Keith Bogans sat out the fourth quarter after aggravating a left knee bruise.
