TRENTON, S.C. - The Rev. W.H. McCain, 91, of Winding Road, entered into rest January 14, 2006, at University Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2006, at Springfield Baptist Church, Edgefield, with the Revs. Clifford Williams and Arthur L. Kemp officiating. Interment will be in the Carey Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Clarks Hill. Rev. McCain, a native of Edgefield County, was a member of Carey Hill Missionary Baptist Church. He was the former pastor of Republican Grove Baptist Church, Bethlehem Baptist Church and Springfield Baptist Church of Edgefield, Bethlehem Baptist Church of North Augusta and Mt. Moriah Baptist Church of Plum Branch. He served as moderator of Baptist Associations in Edgefield County. Left cherishing his memory are his wife, Mary Rearden McCain; three daughters, Mary (Wallace) Garrett and Vurnell (Johnny) Freeman and Dorothy A. (Bernard) Cook; three sons, Freddie (Marie) McCain, Henry A. (Juanita) McCain and Odell (Bessie) McCain; three sisters, Ruth (George) Witzling, Julia (Johnnie) Simpkins and Hattie Collier; two brothers, Sylvester (Shirley) McCain and Johnnie F. (Mattie) McCain; daughter-in-law, Roberta K. McCain; mother-in-law, Mamie Rearden; ten sisters-in-law, nine brothers-in-law, 30 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
