LPN AIKEN, S.C. - Entered into rest on Friday, January 13, 2006, Mrs. Margaret Kellett "Betty" Easter, wife of 47 years of the late Samuel L. Easter. Mrs. Easter was born and raised in Augusta and spent many years following her husband in the U.S. Army before settling in the Aiken area 35 years ago. Mrs. Easter worked as a LPN at Aiken Regional Hospital for many years. She was a member of Hollow Creek Baptist Church in New Ellington, S.C., where she was active in WMU and enjoyed assisting her church family with their various needs. Family members include her sons, David Easter and his wife, Sandy, of Hephzibah, Samuel A. Easter and his wife, Deborah, of Aiken; daughters, Connie Tobesman and her husband, Marty, of Augusta, W. Va., Carol McCoy and her husband, Gus, of Headline, Ala., and Judy Easter Gardner and her husband, Jim, of Beech Island, S.C.; sisters, Barbara Ann Missildine and Maria "Cookie" Wilson; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her great-grandson, Blake Emory Knowles. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 16, 2006, 2 p.m., in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. Raymond Crow and Rev. Roy Morgan officiating. Pallbearers will be Jason Blackmon, Harold Craig, Sammy Johnson, Stacey Todd, Mike Hornsby, Mike Blackmon. Honorary pallbearers will be Dude Walker, Robert Franklin, Cliff Bridges and Buddy Phillips. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3 until 5 at Thomas Poteet. Memorials may be made to Hollow Creek Baptist Church, 82 Aspen Ct., Aiken, SC 29803.
