TV TONIGHT

- Bruce Springsteen fans might want to check out tonight's episode of Cold Case, in which Lily reopens a 1988 case involving four high school buddies. Interwoven throughout the story are pieces of nine 1980s-era songs from the Boss, who typically has been stingy when it comes to allowing his music to be used for TV. The show airs at 8 on CBS (WRDW, Channel 12).

- Can The L Word rebound from what was largely regarded as a sophomore slump? The provocative drama opens its third season tonight with Bette and Tina visiting a sex therapist in hopes of getting their groove back after having a child. Meanwhile, Carmen takes Shane home to meet her parents. The show airs at 10 on Showtime.
