What oppression? Be specific, please

Regarding the letter by the Rev. Sam Tanksley Jr. ("Changes would oppress blacks," Jan. 4): I wish he would have been more definitive about how he and his people are being oppressed.

Such a vague statement leaves me guessing how to work toward solving the problem. I don't live in Augusta, but I love the city, especially during the spring.

I would suggest one thing to the commissioners: Get your act together, and work toward uniting all the people in Augusta. This division in the ranks is certainly not enticing business to move to Augusta and invest more capital.

I'm sure the Rev. Tanksley is a man of God, but I hope during his sermons he is not as vague in spreading the good news of Jesus Christ.
