CONYERS, Ga. - Mrs. Rosemary Smith Widener, 53, entered into rest Monday, January 2, 2006, in Conyers, from injuries sustained from an automobile accident. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2006, in the chapel of Rowland Funeral Home with Rev. John Meyer officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the memorial service. Mrs. Widener was a native of Greenville, S.C., and had lived in Augusta prior to moving to Conyers five years ago. She was the daughter of the late Rev. J.W. Smith and the step-daughter of the late Edd Willoughby. Mrs. Widener was formerly employed with Mullins Lab, the Medical College of Georgia and later retired from the Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center after 15 years of service. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Gary Widener (Sherry) of Asheville, N.C., and Joey Widener (Amanda) of Augusta; three grandchildren, Gage Widener, Bryce Widener and Emilie Widener; her mother, Virginia M. Willoughby of North Augusta; brother, Bob Smith (Pennie) of Winston-Salem, N.C.; three stepbrothers, Dr. Mike Willoughby (Martha) and John Willoughby, both of North Augusta and Pat Willoughby (Joanne) of Boston, Mass.
