AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Joe E. Walker entered into rest on Friday, December 30, 2005, at University Hospital. He was a devoted family man. Joe was president of the Walker Bady Thanksgiving reunion. His hobbies were gardening, growing flowers, reading his Bible and praying. He leaves loving memories with his wife, Maxie (Betty) Lee Walker; daughter, Vetra (Jeffery) Key; father, J.C. Walker, Garfield, Ga., sisters, Mollie (Eddie) Nelson, Twin City, Ga., Ella Mae (Dorsey) Lovett, Swainsboro, Ga., Annie Lee (Bobby) Ellison, Portal, Ga.; brothers, John Willie Walker, Twin City, Ga., Daniel (Freddie Mae) Walker, Matthew Walker, both of Augusta; a devoted niece, Tilda Dekle; godchildren, Tamara Fitts, Quintin Williams; a devoted aunt and uncle Matilda and Charlie Walker and a host of nieces, nephew other relatives and friends. Homegoing celebration will be 1 p.m., Thursday, January 5, 2006, at Friendly Church of God in Christ, 1115 Carrie Street, with Elder Leroy James, officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olive Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 4, 2006, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Kinsey & Walton Funeral Home, 3618 Peach Orchard Road. (706) 790-8858.
