SAVANNAH, Ga. - William Bert Streeter, Jr., age 80, died at 12:06 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2006, at Candler Hospital in Savannah. Mr. Streeter was retired from Morris Communications after 45 years of service as an employee of The Augusta Chronicle, The Augusta Herald, The Savannah Morning News and The Savannah Evening Press. Mr. Streeter was a member of Chapel by the Sea Baptist Church, Tybee Island, Ga. Survivors: his wife, Margie Goodson Streeter; two sons, William B. Streeter III and Mark G. Streeter, all of Wilmington Island, Ga.; a grandson, Grant Waters of Savannah, Ga.; two brothers, George Streeter and Edward Streeter of Augusta; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2006, at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel. Visitation: 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2006, at DeLoach-Kennedy Funeral Home, Waynesboro, Ga. Graveside service: 1:30 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2006, at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in McBean, Ga., with Dr. Michael Joslin officiating. Pallbearers will be George H. Streeter, Jr., William H. Knight, Joseph S. Crozier, Hoyt D. Crozier, David T. Crozier, Jr., Richard A. Boland, Jr., Daniel L. Boland, Ben Knight and Tanner Knight.
