MIDVILLE, Ga. - Tommie Lee Young, age 72, of Midville, beloved husband of Dora Jackson Young and of the late Catherine and Mustrow Young, died Monday, January 2, 2006, at Jefferson County Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Millen, with burial in St. John Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Bark Camp Missionary Baptist Church, Midville. Tommie was a native of Burke County, Ga., a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, a construction worker and a retired educator. He is survived by his wife, Dora Jackson Young of Midville; three sisters, Catherine Riels and Carrie (Richard) Brayboy of Augusta and Alma (Roland) Tuff of Millen; three brothers, Paul (Lucy) Young of Atlanta, Inward (Lucille) Young and John (Lucy) Young of Millen; sisters-in-law, Lucille T. Johnson of Herndersonville, Tenn., Agnes J. Williams and Dorothy (James) Moore of Atlanta, Izora Jackson of Athens, Ga., and Kever Jackson of Hamden, Conn.; brothers-in-law, Ray Jackson of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., L.J. (Bettye) Jackson of Midville, Leroy (Joann) Jackson of Jonesboro, Ga., Walter (Cecelia) Jackson of Decatur, Ga., Arthur Jackson of Atlanta, Seabron Jackson of Albany, Ga., and William "Pete" (Elvira) Jackson of Midville; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jogresan Mortuary of Wadley is in charge of arrangements.
