THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. Alton (Red) Clark, age 73, of 841 Pine lane Drive, beloved husband of Dorinda Clark, died Monday, January 2, 2006, at his residence. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 5, 2006, in the Westview Cemetery with Rev. Mike Sutphin and Rev. Gary Hillman officiating. Mr. Clark was a native of McDuffie County, a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He received two Bronze Stars and an Occupational Medal. He retired after more than 25 years of service as a truck driver, most recently working for Yellow Freight and was a member of Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his parents, John Marcus and Ida Mae Ganus Clark; a sister, Thelma Whitaker; and a brother, Hugh Clark. He is survived by his wife, Dorinda Ansley Clark of Thomson; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Wayne and Lisa Clark, Al and Janis Clark and Allen Clark, all of Thomson; stepson, Christopher and BarbaraReese of Duluth; stepdaughter, Marianne Reese of Thomson; sister, Bernice Pounds of Thomson; grandsons, Phillip Clark and Heath Clark, both of Thomson; stepgrandchildren, Samantha Reese and Rebecca Reese, both of Duluth; and his beloved pet, Bell; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Vince Krepps, Larry Pounds, Cliatt Quarles, J.L. Hendricks, Sam Meadows, Danny Pilgrim and George Richard. The family will be at the residence on Pine lane Drive and will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2006, at Curtis Funeral Home.
