ARTIST: Chris Brown (dual disc available)
RELEASED: Nov. 29, on Jive Records
MY THOUGHTS: Chris Brown is really making a name for himself. With his R&B/pop/hip-hop/rock inspired debut effort, this Tappahannock, Va., native is living up to his new label as "the next Usher." His first single, Run It!, is still in heavy rotation on the radio, but his new single, Yo (Excuse Me Miss), is heating up the airwaves.
With his smooth vocals and even smoother moves, this young man definitely has the potential to be in the presence of music's finest.

'The Polar Express'
RELEASED: Nov. 22 on special-edition DVD
MPAA RATING: G
MY THOUGHTS: The Polar Express is a movie about a child's disbelief in Santa being completely changed by a ride on a train called The Polar Express. The graphics in the movie made it seem as though it wasn't an animated movie; it seriously looked real. The plot, based on the children's book by the same name, was really good but could have used a little more action - it gets kind of slow at points.

'Fun with Dick and Jane'
NOW IN THEATERS
RELEASED: Dec. 21
MPAA RATING: PG-13
MY THOUGHTS: In this remake of the 1977 comedy, Jim Carrey plays Dick, a man living the American dream, who suddenly loses his job, and Ta Leoni plays Jane, his wife. In order to pay the bills, Dick and Jane turn to armed robbery, and hilarious situations follow. For those who enjoy physical comedy, this movie is sure to give good laughs. Although the movie is funny, some parts are too silly to be believable. This film is perfect for those wanting a bit of entertainment but not needing an award-winning performance.
