SATURDAY: A nature photography workshop will be held at Phinizy Swamp Nature Park, beginning at 9 a.m. Ed Belinski will help you discover the digital differences that produce better photographs. Bring your digital camera, lenses and a tripod. Call (706) 828-2109 to register.

JAN. 11-12: Georgia's Hunter Education Class will be held at Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort Gordon from 6-10 p.m. The class is free. Pre-registration is recommended at www.georgiawildlife.com.

JAN. 14: A Concealed Weapon Permit class will be held at Carolina Star Gun & Hunt Club at 8 a.m. Instruction and firing range qualification are included. JAN. 21-22: The 10th annual Atlanta Fly Fishing Festival will be held at the Gwinnett Center in Duluth with displays, guides, classes, tips and trips, boats and new products. Admission is $10, children 12 and younger admitted free. Call (770) 623-4966 or visit www.castlow.com.

JAN. 21: A waterfowl Walk will be held at 9 a.m. at Phinizy Swamp Nature Park. Enjoy a field trip through constructed wetlands in search of wintering waterfowl. Call (706) 828-2109 to register.
