HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Mr. Henry Phillip Tinley, 67, died Thursday December 22, 2005 at University Hospital. Mr. Tinley was born August 17, 1938 in Augusta to the late Berry S. and Mildred Walker Tinley. He was retired from Southern Bell after 38 years. He was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church in Hephzibah and the manager of "Phil's Swangers" bowling team. Mr. Tinley is predeceased by his wife, Thelma Lou Tinley. Mr. Tinley is survived by his daughter, Martha "Dee" Bodie (Jerry) of Hephzibah; three grandsons, H. Berry Johnson, Nick Kris and Kameron Bodie; one granddaughter, Ashley J. Harsey and one nephew, Arlon B. Cloer (Linda). Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday December 26, 2005 at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Hephzibah, with the Reverend Keith McFeely officiating. Pallbearers will be Jay Quattlebaum, Jr., Julian Quattlebaum, Bossy Cook, Richard McElmurray, Barry Shores, and Richard Hood. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution to the Piney Grove Cemetery Fund, 183 Knight Road, Waynesboro, Ga. 30830.
