A single mother from Aiken is having trouble finding a job and can't give her three children a happy holiday unless she receives some financial assistance.
The woman, 27, has two sons and a daughter, all younger than 5. She said she lost everything she owns through unexplained means and then lost her job.
Her next job ended when her place of employment went out of business.
She then had a baby and depends on unemployment and food stamps to survive, she said.
The unemployment payments are about to end, and she is afraid her family will end up on the streets if she is unable to find a new job soon.
"I also want them to at least have something for Christmas since I can't get anything for them myself," she writes.
This woman will receive assistance thanks to The Augusta Chronicle's Empty Stocking Fund. Contributions can be sent to Empty Stocking Fund, P.O. Box 1928, Augusta, GA 30903-1928.
