SRP AUGUSTA, Ga. - AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Clarence Ellis Silman entered into rest Tuesday, December 13, 2005, at his residence. He was born March 4, 1917 in Jackson Co., Ga., to the late Henry Middleton Cowan Silman and the late Janie Yearwood Silman. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Grace Yonce Silman; a son, Dr. Henry Andrew Silman and his wife, Ellie, of Hattiesburg, Miss.; a daughter, Sara Grace (Sally) Tatro and her husband, Jack, of Macon, Ga.; three grandsons, Rev. Andrew Campbell Silman of Corpus Christi, Texas, Stephen Ellis Tatro and Jeremy Andrew Tatro of Macon; two granddaughters, Shannon Silman Holland of Houston, Texas, and Sarah Elizabeth Tatro of Augusta; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his six siblings. He retired from the Savannah River Plant in 1979. At the time of his death, he was a member and ruling elder emeritus of First Presbyterian Church, Augusta, where he had served as clerk of session and benevolence treasurer. He was a former member of the Augusta Choral Society and for a number of years sang in the First Presbyterian Church Choir as well as the choir of several area churches. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, December 16, 2005 at Platt's Crawford Avenue Chapel with Dr. H. Andrew Silman officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be members of the family.
