FALLEN, IL. - Mr. Donn Oliver Abraham, Sr. of Crown Lane entered into rest Saturday, November 26, 2005 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 2, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at B.A. Williams Memorial Chapel with Rev. Rufus Copeland officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park with full military honors. Mr. Abraham, a native of Augusta, was a 1971 graduate of Lucy Laney High School. He received his Bachelors degree of Science in Education from the University of Southern Mississippi. After 22 years of service, he retired from the U.S. Army as Sergeant First class. He was formerly employed for 8 years as an instructor at Keesler AFB, MS. Since December 2003, he was employed as Lead Command Officer for Teleport Communications at Scott AFB, Il. Survivors are his wife, Gundel Abraham; two daughters, Cassandra (Emanuel Lacy) Abraham, Augusta and Alexandra (Carnelle McCladdie) Abraham, Hephzibah; three sisters, Shirley (Bobby) Ward, Augusta, Doris (Rev. Timothy, Sr.) Gilmore, Belvedere, S.C. and Maxine (Leroy) Hubert, Augusta; one brother, Vincent Stanley (Carol) Abraham, Trenton, S.C.; three grandchildren, Kyler, Trevon and Jada; stepfather, Roscoe Barnwell, Augusta; stepbrothers, Arnold Barnwell, Isaac Barnwell, Mark (Chrystal) Barnwell, Augusta; stepsister, Linda (Jeff) Quinn, Charlotte, N.C.; mother of his daughters, Silvia Abraham, Augudta; nieces, nephews and other relatives. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. this evening at the funeral home. Williams Funeral Home, 2945 Old Tobacco Road, Hephzibah.
