AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Betty J. DuMetz Scott succumbed on Monday, November 21, 2005, at her residence on Martin Luther King Blvd. She was a native of Charleston, W.Va. Mrs. Scott matriculated of West Virginia State College as well as Atlanta University. She was a retired educator in the Richmond County School System where she served as Director of Visiting Teachers and was a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. In her former years, she sand in the E.L. Stewart Choir. She was a member of the Red Rose Auxillary Missionary Ministry. Other affiliations include AKA, Inc.; Links, Inc.; Jack & Jill Associate Member, Women Civic Club and the Silhouettes. She is survived by two sons, Dr. H. Randolph Scott II, Columbia, S.C., Dr. Wayne D. Scott, Paris, Texas; three grandsons, Randolph III, Rashad and Anwair; one granddaughter, Houstin; and other relatives and friends. The Ivey Beyond The Wall will be held Monday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, at Noon, from Tabernacle Baptist Church with Rev. Otis Moss III officiating. The funeral processional will leave the residence at 11:15 a.m. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Memorial Park. The wake will be Monday from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at Dent's Funeral home Chapel. Honorary pallbearers will be The Links, Jack & Jill, Women's Civic Club, Red Rose Auxillary, The Silhouettes and AKA.
