Milestones



Military news

- Air Force Airman Robert M. Vaughn, son of Robert Vaughn, of Barnwell, S.C., and Cheryl Vaughn, of Aiken, has graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

- Air Force Airman 1st Class Ian M. Bowles, a 2002 graduate of South Aiken High School and son of William F. Bowles and Glenda Bowles, both of Aiken, has graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

Donates to center

Taylor Auto Group has donated $10,000 to the Medical College of Georgia Children's Medical Center.

Team places third

The Strom Thurmond FFA Soil Judging Team placed third in the State FFA Finals in Edgefield County.

Team members Josh Corley, Parker Northrop, Kyle Harper and Graham Holson were coached by Dan Henderson, agricultural education teacher at the Strom Thurmond Technology Center. Parker was the third-highest individual scorer in the state competition.

Awarded degree

Carolyn Bryant, a graduate of Aiken High School, was awarded the American FFA Degree at the national FFA convention.

In honor society

The following area students at Aiken Technical College have been inducted into Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges:
