BLACKVILLE, S.C. - Brandon Berry's early PAT proved to be the game-winner, but Andre Simmons' alert play late in the game gave Blackville-Hilda some breathing room in its Class A Lower State semifinal victory over Baptist Hill on Friday.
The top-ranked Hawks (13-0) beat the visitors 14-6 to advance to the Lower State championship game against Bamberg-Ehrhardt on Friday. The game, a rematch of an earlier Blackville-Hilda victory this season, will be played at Blackville.
On Friday, Blackville-Hilda scored on a first-quarter, 6-yard run by Marcus Allen.
