  • Lawyer Chad Medlin has joined the law offices of Buddy Dallas. He was previously employed by Augusta-Richmond County. The Evans resident will focus on domestic relations and criminal defense.
  • Phillip G. Wittenberg has joined SunTrust Investments Inc. as an investment consultant. He was previously employed by Edward Jones. The Aiken resident's responsibilities include providing investment services and products to area residents.
  • Wachovia announced the following employees have been named banking officers: Craig Johnson, Troy Stickler, Bennett Bowers, Karyn Grose, Matt Shuler, Nedra Hall, Ricardo Bonner and Rodriques Johnson.
  • Alan Sheffield has been named the director of safety and security at MCG Health Inc. He previously held a similar position at Miami Children's Hospital. Mr. Sheffield, who has several years of law enforcement experience, is a certified health care safety professional and a certified hazard control manager.
  • Dr. Gregory A. Harshfield has been named the director of the Medical College of Georgia's Georgia Prevention Institute. The hypertension researcher was previously the associate director. He has been with the institute since 1997.

  • Rachel Merry, of Merry Financial Services, has been recognized for outstanding sales achievement by Benefit Development Group at the recent AFFLINK conference in Boston.
  • Laurie McRae, of Laurie McRae Interiors, recently attended the National Conference of Interior Design Qualification annual meeting in Denver as an alternate delegate from the Georgia Licensing Board of Architects and Interior Designers.
  • John T. Chandler was Georgia Bank & Trust Mortgage's top mortgage producer in October.
  • Ron Grooms was awarded The Allstate Foundation's Agency Hands in the Community Award for community service. The award comes with a $500 grant that will be donated to the Aiken Gymnastics Booster Club.
  • Dr. Andrea Cauthen Bussey has completed two American Society of Consultant Pharmacists Foundation Post-Graduate Traineeships in Alzheimer's/Dementia and Parkinson's Disease Pharmacotherapy. Dr. Bussey is the president of Pharmacotherapy for Seniors Inc. and is a senior care pharmacist specializing in medication therapy management services for seniors.
  • Health Center Credit Union was named a champion sponsor of the Medical College of Georgia's Children's Medical Center for its $5,000 donation.
  • Winyah Home Health Care said the following employees have completed the Anodyne Therapy Professional System in-service training: Cheryl Williamson, Tommy Hawk, Andrea Moore, Wendy Butler, Lynn Brown, William J. Scicchitano, Glenn Baladjay and Dawn Bowen.
  • Bob Willis, of Re/Max of Augusta, was named one of the top 25 agents for September in Georgia. The brokerage's Terri Thomas was named top residential agent for October, and Dick Wimmer was named top commercial agent for the month.
  • The inaugural Greg Hodges Memorial Golf Tournament, sponsored by the Stokes-Hodges Auto Group dealerships, generated more than $17,000 for the MCG Cancer Center.
  • The following Doctors Hospital employees have completed Six Sigma Methodology training: Terri Sewall, Amanda Fuller, Amanda Mason, Ashley Risher, Brad Cheek, Brian Lancaster and Cheryl Dear.
