BLACKVILLE, S.C. -- Quarterback Brandon Pressley continued his strong play, and so did Blackville-Hilda.

Pressley hit all four of his pass attempts, for 101 yards and a touchdown, as the Fighting Hawks rolled in the second round of the Class A Lower State playoffs.

Pressley has connected on 15 of his 17 passes in the past three games for the top-ranked Hawks (12-0).

Pressley's touchdown strike Friday was a 17-yarder to Andre Simmons in the second quarter.

Six Blackville players scored touchdowns, with running back Marcus Allen being the only double dipper. Allen scored on runs of 5 and 3 yards while rushing for 75 yards on 10 carries.

Blackville will meet Baptist Hill, a 20-0 winner over Timmonsville, Friday in the third round.

Dougherty 28, Thomson 7

ALBANY, Ga. -- Thomson head coach Luther Welsh wasn't able to take a win home from his old school, Dougherty, in the second round of the Class AAA playoffs Friday.

The Bulldogs couldn't slow the athleticism of Trojans quarterback Ronnye Nelson as Dougherty advanced, 28-7.

The Trojans (11-1) took a 14-0 lead in the first half on Nelson's 10-yard run with 11:53 left in the second quarter, as the Thomson defense couldn't get off the field for much of the half.

Late in the third quarter, Nelson connected on a 20-yard pass to Brandon Whitaker to make it 20-0.

Thomson (10-2) got on the board with a 1-yard run from LaBrandon Hudson on fourth down with 9:28 to play. The Bulldogs recovered the onside kick, but halfback Anthony "Pooh" Erwin threw an interception on the ensuing drive.

With 7:33 left in the game, Xavier Cheevers had a 22-yard touchdown run and added the two-point conversion that capped the scoring for Dougherty.

Thomson's late passing attack ended in their third interception of the game with 5:36 to play.
