AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest on Friday, October 28, 2005 at Doctor's Hospital, Dr. Virgil Woods, husband of the late Betty Daniel Woods. Dr. Woods was born in Four Mile, Ky. He was a Doctor of Dental Medicine and at his retirement, he was the U.S. Army DENTAC Commander at Fort Gordon. Dr. Woods was a Senior Fellow of the Rotary Club International of Augusta, a member of the Military Order of World Wars, Disabled American Veterans and a life member of the Retired Officer's Association. Family members include his sons, Dr. Steven Virgil Woods and his wife, Helen, of Savannah, Ga. and Lee David Woods of Ariz.; a sister, Eula Helton of Ages, Ky.; brothers, Raymond Woods of Pineville, Ky. and Carl Woods of Londonderry Ohio; grandchildren, Christopher Daniel Woods, Lauren Woods and Ashley Michelle Woods. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2005, 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son. Chaplain Ron Etheridgewill be officiating with the U.S. Army Honor Guard present.
