RIDGE SPRING, S.C. -- Devon Quattlebaum broke open a close game in the fourth quarter as the the Trojans pitched a shutout in the first round of the Class A playoffs.

Quattlebaum hit Carlton Young on a touchdown pass to make it a three-possession game, then ran an interception back 85 yards to seal it for Ridge Spring (9-2). Robert Axen added 100 yards rushing and a touchdown on the night.

BLACKVILLE, S.C. -- The Fighting Hawks raced to a 34-point lead at halftime and cruised in their first-round Class A playoff game.

Marcus Allen had a punt return and long reception for a touchdown, as well as rushing for 74 yards for Blackville (11-0). Brandon Pressley went 6-for-7 for 151 yards and a pair of touchdowns for the Hawks, who face either C.E. Murray or Hemingway in the second round.

Manny Reidel had a pair of second-half touchdowns and 158 yards rushing to crack the 1,000-yard barrier for the season for North Augusta (5-6), which trailed at halftime.

MONTICELLO, Ga. -- Chad Smith had a pair of second-half touchdown runs as the Spartans held off a fourth-quarter rally to pull out the road win in the first round of the GISA Class AA playoffs.

Hamp Wade had a game-high 136 yards on the ground, and Smith added 120 for Edmund Burke (4-8), which had 388 rushing yards on the night. Jeremy Hayes nearly made it three 100-yard rushers on the night; he had 98 yards and two scores.
