Fishing Tournaments

Neal and Donnie Baughman, seven bass, 14.57 pounds, $300. David White and Bill Harvey, seven bass, 14.49. Big bass: Postell and Landrum, 4.73 pounds, $220.

Scott Dorris, Greenville, S.C., and Brian Hoyle, five bass, 15.13 pounds, $3,000. Chris Baumgardner, Gastonia, N.C., and Boyce Weir, five bass, 14.94 pounds, $1,500. Big fish: Ted Geddis and Ted Mobley, 4.51 pounds, $500.

Joel Feagin, five bass, 12 pounds, 4 ounces. Bubba Jones, five bass, 8 pounds, 9 ounces. Lamond Annas, four bass, 7 pounds, 11 ounces. Big fish: Feagin, 5 pounds, 7 ounces. Twelve fishermen caught 45 bass weighing 69 pounds, 13 ounces, and most were released alive.

Next: Nov. 12, Savannah River, Port Wentworth. Nov. 26, Cherokee ramp. Billed as the largest tournament trail for weekend anglers, it's open to men, women and youths (with parental consent) 16 years of age and older. No boat is required, but if you enter as a boater, you will be guaranteed its use, even if there are no non-boaters in the field.

Entry fee is $55 for one-day tournaments. Payment at the ramp will result in a $5 penalty unless you are signing up as a new member, renewing membership or are a life member. Palmetto State Team Trail

The Clarks Hill event scheduled Nov. 12 out of the Dorn Boating & Fishing Complex on Hawe Creek has been changed to Nov. 19 to avoid conflict with another event, according to Buster Green. The 2005-2006 schedule includes two events each on Keowee, Hartwell, Russell and Clarks Hill. Entry fee $300 per tournament. 8 percent held at each event goes toward the championship pot. Membership fee: $50 per person or $100 per team with half of all membership fees going toward championship.

Next: Nov. 13, bass tournament, daylight until 2 p.m. December: No tournaments scheduled.

Tournaments will be limited to the first 20 boats and are open to all ID cardholders and the public with a Fort Gordon fishing license guest permit. Entry fee is $10 per Fort Gordon Sportsman Club member, $20 per non-member, with an optional $5 big fish pot, with a guaranteed $100 for first place and $50 for second place.

Registration is with the club prior to the tournament or 30 minutes before the event's start. State licenses and Fort Gordon fishing permits required.
