BARTOW, Ga. - Mrs. Eleanor Slade "MeMama" Jordan, age 91, died September 28, 2005. Mrs. Jordan, a lifelong resident of Bartow, had retired from the Jefferson County School System. She was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution, John Franklin Wren Chapter. As a member of the Bartow Methodist Church, she taught Sunday School and held district offices in Methodist Women. Her last years have been spent with the loving care of the Home Place and The Old Capital Inn in Louisville, GA and Glendale Nursing Home in Wadley. Memorials may be made to Bartow United Methodist Church, Bartow, GA 30413. Funeral services will be Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Bartow United Methodist Church with Reverend Don Lovejoy officiating. Interment will follow in the Bartow Cemetery. Survivors include son, Hubert F. Jordan, Jr. of Bartow; daughter, Sarah Ann Fennell of Bartow; daughter-in-law, Patsy Jordan of Bartow. "Memamas" grandchildren are Terri McKettrick, Donna Gilvin, Al Fennell, Jr., Todd Jordan and Hubert Jordan, III and seven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening between the hours of 7 to 9 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home. Smith Funeral Home of Wadley in charge of arrangements.
