WAYNESBORO, Ga. - Huzlee (Husie) Gilchrist of Waynesboro passed away at the University Hospital in Augusta on Thursday, September 29, 2005, at the age of 100 years. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 8, at Bottsford Missionary Baptist Church, Seven Oaks Road, Waynesboro, with the Rev. General Jennings officiating. Interment will be Thompson Bridge Baptist Church Cemetery. She will be missed by her children, Hugh Lawson, Fannie M. Petteway, Pearlie Wimberly, Martha Burns, Jack Lawson, Joe L. Lawson, Susie Scott, Mary M. Willis, Solomon Lawson, Mary Blount and Carrie Burnett, and Luretha Fielding; two godsons, Thomas Hollis and Chief Alfred Hughes. Four children preceded her in death, Arthur L. Lawson, Francis Johnson, Ben Lawson and Floyd Lawson. She was married to the late Frank Lawson and the late Deacon Richard Gilchrist.
