LINCOLNTON, Ga. - Mr. Claude M. Beggs, 92 of Double Branches Rd. died Monday, Oct. 3 at Wills Memorial Hospital, Washington. Funeral services will be held Thurs., Oct. 6, 2005 at 3 p.m. at Double Branches Baptist Church with Revs. Ficklen Guin and Keith Etheridge officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Beggs a lifelong resident of Lincoln County was the son of the late Henry and Kizzie Watts Beggs. He retired from Fort Gordon Printing Co. as an offset pressman. He was a member of Double Branches Baptist Church, where he had served as Deacon and Treasurer for many years. He was also, a member of Woodmen of the World. Mr. Beggs was preceded in death by his son, Henry Cecil Beggs; a son-in-law, Curt Cole, and a great- grandson, Charles McGill Beggs III. Survivors are his wife of 62 years, Kathleen McGill Beggs; daughter, Sandra Beggs Cole; sons, Charles Beggs and wife, Debra of Lincolnton and Kirby Beggs, and wife, Lori, of Union Point; 12 grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren Pallbearers: Barney Aycock III, A.C. McGill, Fred McWhorter, Price McWhorter, Tom McWhorter, Jim Neal, Honorary bearers are Alton Tankersley, and J.M. Holloway.
