Does private entity need public land?
Letter to the Editor
Wednesday, October 05, 2005

It is really nice of our elite Columbia County Commission to give some of our land to the Family Y so they can put a fine, huge, new facility on our land. However, there will be many kids who cannot participate in any of the activities because their parents do not belong to the Y, and no one does anything there unless they are a member.

Remember the free school days recently, when the Y had programs for kids of members only? Those monthly dues may be cheap to some folks, but a lot of people cannot afford them.

This is just one more thing that leads to divisiveness - more and more like Richmond County. Heaven help us.
