AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Betty Jean Phillips, 69, widow of the late Clifford Ray "Rabbitt" Phillips Sr., entered into rest Saturday, October 1, 2005 at St. Joseph Hospital. The funeral will be held Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. at the Bible Deliverance Temple with Dr. H.K. McKnight, Dr. H. Kelly McKnight and Rev. Jesse Lee Goldman officiating. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Mrs. Phillips was born in Gaffney, SC and was the daughter of the late Walter J. and Ethel Batchlor Childers. She was a homemaker and a member of Bible Deliverance Temple. She was also preceded in death by her son, the late Clifford Ray Phillips, Jr. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Ann Ellison of North Augusta and a special friend, Barbara Jane Milford of Augusta; four grandchildren, Michelle Lynn Wright, Christina Jean Burris, Cynthia Annette Johnson and Raymond Paul Phillips and eight great-grandchildren.
