AIKEN, S.C. - George Albert "Big George" Carroll, Sr., 54, of Comfort Point Ct., died Sunday, October 2, 2005 at University Hospital in Augusta. Mr. Carroll was born in Pauls Valley, OK, he was employed with Bellsouth. He was a member of Williston Church of Christ, Telephone Pioneers, Communication Workers of America, and the Williston Masonic Lodge. He was a loving, gentle man who touched many people's hearts and taught everyone around him the capacity to love. Mr. Carroll was preceded in death by his mother, Billie Jo Turner Carroll. Survivors include his wife, Denise Carroll; father, Omer Carroll, Williston; four children, Kerry (Kevin) Watson, Aiken, George (Cecily) Carroll, Jr., Abingdon, VA, Kristi (Neil) Arbaugh, Aiken, Megan (Anthony) Blake, Charleston; four grandchildren, Kelly and Kyle Watson, Aiken, Gabriel, Joshua, and Sarah Carroll, Abingdon, VA; two brothers, Mike (Lisa) Carroll, Edmond, OK, Paul (Teresa) Carroll, Aiken; asister, Sarie (Terrill) Tuten, Barnwell; nieces and nephews, Neill and Brittany Tuten, Barnwell, Jonathon, Colin, and James Carroll, Edmond, OK, Dillon Carroll, Jonathon and Jeremy Bracco, Jason Bracco, all of Aiken, Caroline and Mariah Tatum, Atlanta; and family pet, Precious. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM. Tuesday at the Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery.
