GROVETOWN, Ga. - SFC Francis E. Zimmerman, Retired, entered into rest Tuesday, September 27, 2005 in Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Ft. Gordon. He was the husband of Mrs. Lucy Knee Zimmerman. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 30, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Thomas L. King Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain (Major) Ray Bennett officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial park. Military honors will be accorded at the grave. Masonic rites will be accorded by Masonic Lodge #730 of Grovetown. Family members are his wife, Lucy Knee Zimmerman; one son, David Zimmerman and his wife, Brenda, of McRae, Ga.; two daughters, Linda Zimmerman, Colorado Springs, Colo., Jennifer Noonan and her husband, Robert, of Billingham, Mass.; one brother, David Zimmerman of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; one sister, Nancy McIntosh of Cordon, Iowa; a dear friend, Diane Campbell of Dublin, Ga.; and six grandchildren, Jennifer, Haley, Stephanie, Kenneth, Andrew and Lauren. Mr. Zimmerman was born in Iowa and a retired Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He attended the Bicentennial Chapel at Ft. Gordon, was a member of Boy Scout Troop 99, Ft. Gordon and Boy Scout Troop 181, Grovetown, a council member oat Large and recipient of the Silver Beaver, and member of Grovetown Masonic Lodge #730. At the request of the deceased, Mr. Zimmerman requested that no flowers be sent for the service.
