Musical benefit
Acclaimed guitarist Michael Lucarelli will perform on behalf of the Aiken Woman's Club at 8 p.m. Friday at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts, 126 Newberry St., Aiken. Proceeds from the event will go to charities, including Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased from club member Andrea Lutz at 642-6380.
Museum opening
The Biddle Hall Museum's opening ceremonies will be held at 4 p.m. Sundayon the Bettis Academy campus, 78 Nicholson Road, Trenton, S.C. The event is free.
Medicare seminar

Film series
The University of South Carolina Aiken's American Democracy Project film series will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays in the university's Penland Administration Building, room 106. The movie Thelma and Louise will be shown Tuesday, and 12 Angry Men will be shown Oct. 18. Philadelphia will wrap up the series on Nov. 1. Arts fund-raiser
The Aiken Center for the Arts will hold its annual fund-raiser, A Taste of Wine and Art, from 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, at the arts center, 122 Laurens St. S.W.
The event will feature signature dishes from area restaurants and 100 wines from 36 producers. The cost is $45. Call 641-9094.
Heritage Jubilee
The Heritage Jubilee will be at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, and 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Edgefield Soccer Field Complex, U.S. Highway 25, Business District Road. The free event will feature a cook-off, Brasstyme Band, Jimbo Durham on Friday, arts, crafts, carnival rides, an ugly dog contest, a car and motorcycle show, bingo and helicopter rides for a fee.
