Baseball

- The South Eastern Baseball Showcase will be held at Luther Williams Field in Macon, Ga., Oct. 9 at 11 a.m. for the high school classes of 2006 and 2007. For more information, call (404) 869-7966 or go to www.angelfire.com/sports/showcase.

Golf

- The Augusta Prep Golf Classic will be Oct. 3 at West Lake, with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Cost is $400 per four-man team, including lunch and golf shirt. For more information, call Siobhan Carlile at (706) 863-1906 ext. 214 by Sept. 26.

- The Waynesboro Country Club will host at 27-hole, four-man scramble Oct. 9, beginning with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Cost is $220 per team and includes 27 holes and lunch. The field is limited to the first 24 teams. For more information, call (706) 554-2262.

- The 12th Annual Bert Yancey Memorial Golf Tournament will be held Oct. 10 at River Club. The tournament will be four-man lauderdale format, and proceeds will benefit the Mental Health Association of Greater Augusta, and local affiliates of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill and the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance. - The Fore Everyone adaptive free golf clinic are held the second Tuesday of every month from 10 a.m. until noon at First Tee of Augusta. Basketball

- The 2005 Georgia Regional Adidas Jr. Phenom Camp will be held Oct. 1-2 in Atlanta for 5th-8th grade boys. Cost is $195 per camper. For more information, go to www.Southernbasketballchallenge.com.

- The fifth annual College Basketball Pre-Season Tip-Off luncheon will be held Oct. 6 at the Radisson Riverfront Hotel Augusta, beginning at noon. University of North Carolina head coach Roy Williams will be the keynote speaker. Retired Clemson and Virginia Tech head coach Bill Foster will be presented with the Bobby Roberts Lifetime Achievement Award. Lacrosse

- A girls lacrosse under-19 team is being formed for Aiken, Richmond and Columbia counties for the spring season. No experience or equipment is required. - Boys under-19 lacrosse in Aiken, Columbia and Richmond counties is being offered for its established Under-19 and Lakeside teams. Practice is being held Saturdays from 9 a.m. until noon at Evans recreation field behind Kroger on North Belair Road. Equipment is supplied for practice. - The 2005 Georgia Golden Olympics will be held in Warner Robins Sept. 28-Oct. 1. Men and women over 50 are invited to participate. A T-shirt, admission for dinner, lunch and Saturday, and medals for first, second and third place winners will be provided. - The Boy Scouts of America will host "Skeet-R-Done," a fundraising skeet/trap shoot competition, Oct. 15 from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Pinetucky Skeet and Trap Club. - The USC Aiken Athletic Department will host its annual sports auction Oct. 15. The event will begin with a silent auction at 7 p.m., followed by a live auction. There will be heavy hors d'oeuvres and an open bar. Items to be auctioned will include sports memorabilia, vacation packages, and various other items. Tickets to the event at $25. Softball

Tennis

- The Aiken Open Tennis Championships will be held Oct. 7-9 at Woodside Country Club. Levels are NTRP, Seniors over 60, Open singles, Open Doubles, and Mixed Doubles.
