AIKEN, S.C. - Mr. Fred Roberson, 76, died Monday, September 19, 2005. The funeral will be held at Zion Fair Missionary Baptist Church in Aiken at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 24, 2005 with Rev. Bruce Wright officiating. Burial will be in Zion Fair Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. A son of the late Rev. Earl Roberson, Sr. and Mildred Bell Roberson, Mr. Roberson retired from Dupont/Westinghouse Savannah River Site where he worked for 42 years. He was a member of Zion Fair Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of the Usher Board. Survivors include his children, Ann (Thomas) Hornsby, Atlanta, Ga., Regina (Clem) Brown, North Augusta, Fredrick and Fredricka Roberson, Aiken, and LaJuana Hammond, Aiken; brothers and sisters-in-law, Earl (Willie Mae) Roberson, Raymond (Ann) Robinson, and Kenny (Thelma) Robinson, all of Aiken; one foster sister, Mildred Turner, New Ellenton; stepsons, Eugene Myles, Charlotte, N.C., Barry (Veronica) Myles, Atlanta, and Stanley (Carol) Eldridge, Bronx, N.Y. He has seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Roberson will lie in state at the church Saturday from Noon until the hour of service. The family will receive friends at the residence, 404 Marion St., NE, Aiken, SC, or at Jackson-Brooks Funeral Home, 126 Fairfield St., SE, Aiken, SC 29801, beginning at 1:00 p.m. today.
