ATLANTA, Ga. - Miss Virginia Bradshaw, 98, of Atlanta, died Wednesday, September 21, 2005. She was born in Norwood, Ga. on July 19, 1907 to Steve R. and Estelle Hill Bradshaw and moved to Atlanta in 1920 with her mother and her aunt, Mary Lou Hill. Miss Bradshaw received her elementary and high school education at home and with tutors and then studied under Alfredo Barilli at the Barilli School of Music, completing her Certificate of Competency to Teach Pianoforte in 1930. Miss Bradshaw was a longtime member of the Druid Hills United Methodist Church and served 21 years in the church nursery. Miss Bradshaw is survived by cousins, Neal and Diane Ray, Mary Ray Robinson, their children and grandchildren; and by surrogate granddaughter, Susan Stephenson Ruhl, her husband Kevin, and their daughter, Lindsey Bradshaw Ruhl. A graveside service will be held at the Norwood Cemetery on Sunday, September 25, 2005 at 3:30 p.m., with Rev. Rex Kaney officiating.. Inlieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the A.G. Rhodes Home at Wesley Woods, for the Resident Activities Department, 1819 Clifton Road, NE, Atlanta, GA 30329. The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service.
