MILLEN, Ga. - Mrs. Ayre Lee Aycock, age 88, died Tuesday, September 20, 2005, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah. A native of Jenkins County, she had lived in Savannah for a number of years. Before her retirement, she owned and operated Aycock Oil Company. Afterward, she devoted her time and energy to her beloved grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and great-greatgrandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Elam Baptist Church in Jenkins County, with Dr. David Wainright officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Aycock, who was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Aycock, is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn and Julian Walraven of Savannah; a son and daughter-in-law, William (Buddy) and Sandra Rabitsch of Statesboro; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Adell Peel of Atlanta and Mildred Wiggins of Millen; one brother and sister-in- law, Herbert and Betty Girard of Reidsville; six nieces and a nephew. Pallbearers will be Don Herndon, Keith Rabitsch, Ken Rabitsch, Jon Walraven, Mike Walraven, and Stephen Wicks. Visitation will be Thursday, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at CroweFields Funeral Home in Millen.
