Bush exemplifies incompetence

Some people say George W. Bush is a nice guy. Therefore, based on his record since he stole the White House, there is only one conclusion an intelligent person can make: He is simply incompetent! Bush is an excellent example of the Peter Principle, which says people tend to be promoted to their level of incompetence. Obviously, Bush reached his level of incompetence many years ago.

Bush was incompetent when he lied to justify his attack on Iraq. Bush has been incompetent in the follow-up to the war in Iraq resulting in nearly 2,000 deaths of brave American servicemen and women. Bush was incompetent when he destroyed a strong, vibrant economy that he inherited from President Clinton. Bush was incompetent when he gave tax breaks to the wealthy while allowing America's infrastructure to decay. Bush is incompetent in his efforts to weaken Social Security.

Bush's incompetence has given us record-high gasoline prices while bringing record-high profits to his corporate oil buddies. The best example of Bush's incompetence has been his uncaring response to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. (Where is a compassionate conservative when you need one?) Bush's incompetence continues by his refusal to set a timetable to withdraw our troops from Iraq.

Well, I've got news for him: The timetable is already set. The date is Jan. 20, 2009, when we give this incompetent commander-in-chief a dishonorable discharge and swear in president-elect Hillary Rodham Clinton. I'm sure most Americans share my hope and enthusiasm while we look forward to that day.
