Baking is still big in many kitchens

Wilton Enterprises, maker of bakeware, surveyed more than 1,150 American moms to find out what they're making in the kitchen. Here's what they found out:

- Forty-five percent bake cookies, while 39 percent make cakes and cupcakes and 11 percent stick to breads.

- According to the survey, 84 percent of moms hit the kitchen to bake at least once a month, while 49 percent bake at least once a week or more. Fifty-six percent say they bake more frequently today than they did five years ago.

- They'll cook dinner, but 66 percent of moms said they prefer to bake.

- Fifty-six percent have bought bakeware in the past six months.

- Fifty-three percent of moms prefer to bake from scratch.
