JACKSON, S.C. - Funeral Services for Mr. John G. Franklin, 78, of Old Jackson Highway, Jackson, SC, who died September 8, 2005, will be conducted this Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from First Baptist Church of Jackson. Rev. Edward Newsome and Rev. Donald Lumpkin officiating. Interment in Jackson Memorial Cemetery with Masonic Rites conducted by The Hopewell Masonic Lodge # 127 AFM. Mr. Franklin was a native of Ellenton, SC, having made Jackson his home for the past 53 years. He was a charter member of First Baptist Church of Jackson, a member of the Baracca II Sunday School Class and a member of the Hopewell Masonic Lodge # 127 AFM. A Merchant Marine during World War II, he was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, retired from the E.I. DuPont Company, a retired Branch Manager of the Savannah River Credit Union and a member of the American Legion Post # 97. Mr. Franklin was an employee of the Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Doris Steed Franklin; two sons and a daughter-in-law, David J. Franklin, J. Allen and Joan Franklin; a brother, Donald M. Franklin; a sister, Peggy F. Brinkley, all of Jackson; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Baracca II Sunday School Class and the Hopewell Masonic Lodge # 127 AFM. Active Pallbearers will be Andy Franklin, Marion Brinkley, Jr., Philip Moore, David Hardy, Alexis Servy and Chris Hargrove. Stephen D.
