SARDIS, Ga. - Mrs. Lizzie Juanita Winder died at home Wednesday August 31, 2005. She was born in Screven County on February 9, 1929 to the late Manuel and Lizzie Maebell Howard Williams. She retired from the Burke County Board of Education where she worked as a bus driver and lunch room administrator. She was a member of the Sardis United Methodist Church and the Sardis UMC Senior Group. Mrs. Widner was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Wesley Widner, and brothers, Robbie Lee Williams, Eddie Williams, Warren Williams and Frank Williams. She is survived by daughters, Debra Kile, Sardis, Judy W. Reddick (Ronnie), Waynesboro, Martha W. Hannah (John), Midville, Rebecca W. Reddick (Hubert), Sardis; one son, Glenn W. Widner, Jr. (Kathy) of Keysville. She also survived by sisters, Ada Weeks (Daniel), Kingsland, Linda Copeland, Virginia Beach, Va.; brothers, Jesse Williams (Roberta), Dover, Del., John Henry Williams (Josephine), Salem, Va.; ten grandchildren, Nichole Omar (Francis), Wes Widner (Beth), Steve Reddick (Kim), Lynn Thompson (Tracy), Greg Hannah, Robbie Hannah, Daniel Hannah, Hilton Ward, Ronda Reddick and Kim Reddick; eight greatgrandchildren, Devon, Tres and Gage Omar, Brittany, Trent and Ashlyn Reddick, Jackson Thompson and Kylee Widner. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 3, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sardis United Methodist Church with Rev. Roy White, Dr. G. Al Wright and Rev. Karen Zeigler officiating. Burial will follow at Sardis Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Widner's grandsons, Wes Widner, Steve Reddick, Greg Hannah, Robbie Hannah, Daniel Hannah and Hilton Ward. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Course, James Hollingsworth and her sons-in-law. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2005 at the DeLoach-Kennedy Funeral Home Chapel.
