TODAY: Fishing with Ralph Barbee airs at 2 p.m., also on UPN. Another local outdoor program, Outdoor Destinations with Craig Johnson, airs at 1:30 p.m. on UPN.

TODAY: Fort Gordon Outdoor Recreation Department will hold the last of its 3-D Archery and Hunting Class tournaments with registration and competition from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the post's Sportsmens Complex. Both children and adults are welcome; adults pay a $15 entrance fee. Call 791-5078 for more details.

TODAY: A PPC Pistol Shoot for center-fire handguns will be held at Pinetucky Sporting complex. The public is welcome. Cost is $4 for members, $12 for non-members. Call 592-4230 for more details.

THURSDAY: The Augusta Chapter of Quail Unlimited will hold its annual banquet and fund raiser at the Augusta Country Club. For information on attending and joining Quail Unlimited, contact Bob Grahl at (706) 650-3085.

SEPT. 4: Pinetucky Gun Club will hold its monthly IDPA Pistol match, which is open to new shooters. Registration starts at 8 a.m. Cost is $4 for club members and $12 for non-members.

SEPT. 6: Augusta Bass Club will meet at 7 p.m. at El Valle Mexican restaurant at the Kmart shopping center on Washington Road in Martinez. New members are being sought and everyone is welcome. Call 706-533-7329 for more details.

SEPT. 8: A Women's Pistol Shooting Group will meet at 7 p.m. at Carolina Star Gun & Hunt Club, Cedar Branch Road, Windsor, S.C., with a special range fee of $10. To join or for more details, call 803-641-1742.

SEPT. 10: A Fall Migration Bird Walk will be held at Phinizy Swamp Nature Park at 8 a.m. with experienced birders as guides. Species to be seen include neotropical migrants and waterfowl. Call 828-2109 for more details.

SEPT. 11-12: Pinetucky Gun Club will hold its Club Skeet League competition with 100 targets in any of the four gauges or doubles. Shooting starts at 2 p.m. on both days. Contact Steve Meldrum at the club for more details.

Sept. 25: The 35th Military Police Detachment will sponsor a bass tournament at Butler Reservoir beginning at 7 a.m. Fort Gordon fishing permit requirements are waived for the tournament only. Entry fee is $20. Proceeds will support the group's MP Ball in October. Call 791-5033 for more details.

Oct. 1-2: The Columbia County Bicycle Tour will be held with 10, 20, 45 and 65-mile loops on Saturday and other routes on Sunday. Register online at www.active.com or call (706) 836-8821. The event is sponsored by the West Augusta Rotary Club.
