A joyful noise
Jazz trombonist Wycliffe Gordon will perform a benefit concert at 7 tonight at Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church, 1330 Monte Sano Ave. Karen Gordon, his sister, will play keyboards. Fall Bible study

Questions in crisis
A two-day workshop on how to deal with questions after someone suffers a crisis will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the Hampton Inn and Suites, 401 Jimmie Dyess Parkway. The Revs. John Ellis and Stephen Pain will be the presenters. The $150 course is certified by the International Critical Incidence Stress Foundation of Baltimore. Registration is at 8 a.m. Wednesday.
