When Georgia strapped on full pads for the first time this preseason on Thursday morning, A.J. Bryant watched in street clothes and a sling.
The sophomore wide receiver took a seat besides injured players Antonio Sims and Des Williams on a shaded bench.
Bryant, Georgia's No. 3 receiver, suffered a dislocated left shoulder in a punt return drill during Wednesday's practice and is doubtful for the Sept. 3 season opener against Boise State.
Bryant, who saw an orthopedic specialist on Thursday afternoon, has "a very realistic shot" to play in the Sept. 10 home game against South Carolina, coach Mark Richt said.
Redshirt freshman Kenneth Harris is now the third receiver in a three wide-out set, but wide receivers coach John Eason said freshman Mohamed Massaquoi and junior Mario Raley will also get a look.
Massaquoi missed his second straight day of practice with a strained hamstring and could be out up to another week.
LUMPKIN HELD OUT: Tailback Kregg Lumpkin, who suffered a torn ACL last August, was held out of practice because he has yet to be cleared for full contact.
"I wanted to go today and see where I stand at right now, but I didn't get a chance to," Lumpkin said.
Lumpkin participated in the afternoon session, a "thud" practice - where players make contact but do not tackle to the ground.
"They're knocking the hell out of each other whether it's thud or live," running backs coach Kirby Smart said. "The only thing different (is) if it's to the ground or not."
On days Georgia practices twice, Lumpkin is being limited to one session for precautionary reasons.
Linebacker Jarvis Jackson, returning from shoulder surgery, also did not practice with the team in the morning.
TICKETS IN THE MAIL: Georgia season-ticket holders and those who purchased single-game tickets should be receiving deliveries from UPS today or Monday, ticket manager Tim Cearley said.
All six home games are now sold out after 1,000 tickets for the Boise State game and 3,000 for the Nov. 19 Kentucky game were quickly snatched up online.
BOISE STATE SUSPENSIONS: Boise State has suspended junior wide receiver Drisan James and junior linebacker Colt Brooks for the Sept. 3 game with Georgia at Sanford Stadium for what the school called a violation of university policy.
