CAFTA bodes ill for country's future

We are losing our freedoms faster than you can whistle Dixie. Do we not realize that people do not give up their liberties unless they are deceived, because of deception and treason?

The Central America Free Trade Agreement passed by a margin of two votes. Every South Carolina Republican U.S. House member voted for CAFTA. This is deplorable and despicable. CAFTA has little to do with free trade, and a lot do with the giving away of our nation's sovereignty. The part about free is for deceiving the people. Congressman Gresham Barrett's lame excuse about finding a loophole that would benefit China is absurd. If you want cheap, communist goods, just walk yourself down to any Wal-Mart; they certainly don't have to come through Central America. CAFTA is yet another step toward one-world government.

Come November, we will have the Free Trade Agreement of the Americas pushed down our throats. This treaty will include all 34 nations of the Western Hemisphere. If it passes and becomes the law of the land, every nation will agree to give up its sovereignty and borders. If we give up our borders, we will see hundreds of millions of illegal immigrants coming to our shores. Within a short period of 10 to 15 years, we will see the demise of our welfare, health care, government school system and Social Security. This will be the end of the middle class. There will be the extreme rich and the rest of us. Freedom as we know it will cease to exist.

If we care anything about our children's future, we will get informed and involved, or else we will get enslaved.
