Mrs. Jessie M. Hatcher (NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C.)



NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mrs. Jessie M. Hatcher, 88, who went home to Heaven at one o'clock Thursday morning from the Portsbridge Hospice, Augusta, Ga., "willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." (II Cor. 5:8b KJV). Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home. Rev. McArthur Grizzard officiating. Interment in Aiken Memorial Park. Mrs. Hatcher was born in 1917 in Sandusky, Ohio, having made the Bath and Clearwater area her home for the past 45 years. She was retired from Pages University of Cosmetology where she was an instructor for 24 years. Jessie was a former Manager at LaVerna's Hair Port #1 and the Clearwater Beauty Shop. She knew the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour. A member of Victory Baptist Church in North Augusta, she loved the preaching of Dr. Larry Brown and was a member of the Pastor's Sunday School Class. Mrs. Hatcher is survived by her husband, Robert; a son, Kenneth J. Burmeister, Sandusky, Ohio; the mother of her grandchildren, Anita Burmeister, Huron, Ohio; four grandchildren, Kenneth S. Burmeister, Jeanetta Provozink, Rachel Hartless and Leah Stipe; and seven great-grandchildren, all of Ohio; two beloved friends, Mac and Sue Grizzard, North Augusta. Honorary pallbearers will be Rev. Marvin Atkinson, Grady L. Williamson, Birley Birchmore, Randy Justice, Jerry Justice and Joe Coleman. Active Pallbearers will be Colton S. Pearson, Kenneth S. Burmeister, Marc Grizzard, Rev. Jason T. Grizzard, Frank Herndon and Randall Simmons. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6 to 8. The family will be at the residence of Mac and Sue Grizzard, 574 Duncan Road North Augusta, SC. Memorials may be made to the Victory Baptist Church Building Fund, 620 West Martintown Road, North Augusta, SC 29841. Stephen D.
