Mrs. Nellie Cosby (WASHINGTON, Ga.)



WASHINGTON, Ga. - Mrs. Nellie Hammock Cosby, 90, of Athens, formerly of Washington, died July 28, 2005 in Athens Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was a native of Wilkes County and lived in this area all of her life. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Vincent and Agnes Satilla Barfield Hammock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Cosby. Mrs. Cosby was a member of Phillips Mill Baptist Church. Graveside services will be Sunday, July 31, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. in the Phillips Mill Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Rayner officiating. Eulogies will be given by Eddie Stribling and Thomas Fanning. Serving as pallbearers are Thomas Fanning, Gary Huff, Tony Norman, Charles Stribling, Mitchell Hammock, Donnie McAvoy and Eddie Stribling. Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Williamson and her husband, Frank, of Athens; grandson, Adam Williamson; sister-in-law, Louise Hammock, Hazelhurst and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Phillips Mill Baptist Church, Stained Glass Fund, c/o Lamar Cofer, 4831 Greensboro Road, Washington, GA 30673.
